Understand default settings of Cisco 5505 ASA
Diplay and change default settings of Cisco 5505 ASA
Configure NAT and ACLs on Cisco 5505 ASA
Configure DMZ in a network using Cisco 5505 ASA
Understand default configurations of Cisco 5506-X ASA
Learn to configure Cisco ASA 5506-X by doing a project
Requirements
The first Cisco CCNA course.
Familiarity with network security concept.
Having a working knowledge of Cisco Packet Tracer.
Description
In this course, we will cover both concepts and configuration commands of Cisco 5505 and Cisco 5506-X ASA firewalls. The concept is reinforced through Packet Tracer activities that are like real life situations. The basic configurations of the ASA include:1- Renaming of ASA devices2- Exploring default configurations of both 5505 and 5506-X Cisco ASA devices using variety of show commands.3- Creating Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) on Cisco 5505 ASA4- Creating security network objects5- Assigning IPv4 addresses6- Assigning different security levels7- Configuring Dynamic and Static Network Address Translations (NAT)8- Configuring Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), and HTTP (Web) servers in Cisco Packet Tracer. In addition to basic configuration commands of both 5505 and 5506-X firewalls, advanced access control lists (ACLs) are covered for situation when:1- There is a Web server in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) of the network for public access.2- There are Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) servers in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) of the network for private access.3- There is a public server on the Internet, where you like to allow your Local Area Network (LAN) devices access to it.
