Mozart - Wind Concertos (Johannes Walter, Jutta Zoff, Kurt Mahn..) [3 SACDs] (1973-1982/2021) SACD
A three-disc collection of Mozart's concertos for wind instruments by former East German masters. All the backgrounds are by Staatskapelle Dresden, and recordings from the 1970s to the early '80s are included. Mainly the SKD principal is the soloist, but the clarinet concerto is by other orchestra players. Partly due to the name ETERNA, the faint yet delicious tone captivates listeners with an indescribable sound. In addition, in the reprint project of Tower Records, the SACD hybrid version of the Vienna Philharmonic Principal Player edition (DG sound source conducted by Böhm) of almost the same song has been released (PROC2131). It would be fun to listen and compare as the same high-quality sound board.
