Description
From a beginner peering out your kitchen window at a feeder to an experienced birder picking out the one vagrant in a mixed flock of waders on the coast, this course will guide you through all aspects of birdwatching. You will start by learning what you really need to get started in birdwatching and what you can add as you progress through your birding journey. From here you will learn what to look for, and listen for, when trying to identify a bird in front of you. Then we will go on a journey through the habitats in which birds can be found and look at the challenges of finding birds in them and the special species we may find there.Throughout the course will be opportunities for you to go out and practise, as well as multiple choice quizzes. The course will also allow you to engage with other learners. The course has been designed to appeal to an international audience using examples from Europe and North America, and all of the techniques are applicable wherever you are in the world. So dust of those binoculars and jump right in and find out about how to be a better birder.
Beginner birdwatchers who have either recently taken up the hobby or are wanting to find out how to start.
