Description
In this video I create the plans and structural calculations for a 1,671-lb air tank in a high seismic zone of California. The project fee was $2,700 and the project is completed in real time in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The four templates used in the video are available for purchase at the Ward Engineering digital store. After completing this course you will be competent in creating the structural calculations and structural plans for seismic anchorage design of non-structural components. The calculations for anchor load demands are completed in accordance with ASCE7-16. Calculations for the concrete slab are performed in accordance with the ACI code.ASCE 7-16 is a standard from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) that addresses the seismic design of nonstructural components. It includes equations and requirements for calculating the seismic design force on nonstructural components. The primary sections of ASCE7-16 that are utilized are 13.3.1 and 13.4.1. Matthew Ward began his civil engineering career in 2006 and has been a licensed Professional Civil Engineer since 2009. Matthew has a wide range of civil engineering experience including residential, commercial, roadway, bridge and floodplain management. Matthew has personally delivered over 100 projects throughout California as a project manager.
