Description
This course aim to provide a complete guide to carrying out power measurements. It has been prepared from many years of experience in this technical discipline and covers some of the typical situations one may find on site. It is aimed at technical people at all levels from beginner to advanced. The course begins with discussing the basics of power parameters such as voltage and current and all the resulting parameters that are derived from the voltage and current. The course then goes on to discuss power measurement equipment and their specifications, the types of electrical installation that one is likely to encounter at a customer's installation, the relevant safety requirements that must be adhered to, as one would most likely be working with live installations, the methodology for conducting on site measurements which include the identification of measurement locations, the installation of measurement equipment, equipment configuration and settings to be applied and the downloading procedures at the end of the measurement period. Finally we discuss how to prepare an easy to understand report, which covers the main findings and recommendations. The aim is to provide engineers, technicians and maintenance personnel with the required skills to be able to conduct power measurements without the need to hire external help.
Who this course is for
This course is intended for electrical engineers, electrical technicians, electricians and suitably trained or qualified maintenance personnel.
Note: This is not a guide to testing of electrical installations.
